Private transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Albuñol
Door-to-door transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Albuñol with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.

What Albuñol is like
Albuñol sits inland on the eastern edge of Granada province, on the slopes of the Sierra de la Contraviesa, a wine-growing area known for its vineyards on schist soils. The town itself is compact, with narrow streets climbing between white houses and the church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario in the centre. It is best known archaeologically for the Cueva de los Murciélagos, a Neolithic site above the town. Its coastal district, La Rábita, sits down at the shore alongside El Pozuelo, where residents and Spanish families head for beaches and summer holidays. Most people arriving are property owners, returning residents, or visitors combining the coast with the Alpujarra villages of Albondón and Sorvilán inland. It is a working local town rather than a resort.
The drive from Málaga along the coast
The route follows the A-7 coastal motorway east the whole way, passing Nerja, Almuñécar and Motril before reaching the Costa Granadina. This stretch is mostly fast dual carriageway, with tunnels and viaducts cutting through the headlands past Motril, so the driving is straightforward and scenic without being winding. The change comes at the end: to reach La Rábita you exit at the coast, and to reach Albuñol town itself you turn inland and climb a narrow road up the barranco through the Contraviesa foothills. That final ascent is slower and twists as it gains height. Total road distance is around 140 km and the journey usually takes close to an hour and three quarters, depending on summer traffic around Motril and Almuñécar.
Practical tips for this transfer
Confirm whether your address is in Albuñol town or down in La Rábita and El Pozuelo on the coast — they are separate places about 15 minutes apart, and the driver needs to know which before setting off. If you are staying in the old town, be aware some streets are too narrow for larger vehicles, so agree a nearby drop-off point in advance. There are limited services between Motril and Albuñol, so use the stop at Motril if you need a supermarket, pharmacy or fuel before heading up. In summer the coast road around Almuñécar and Motril slows in the afternoons, so an earlier flight arrival makes for an easier run. Bring the exact door number, as rural addresses outside the town centre can be hard to locate.
