Private transfer from Larnaca International Airport to Polis
Door-to-door transfer from Larnaca International Airport to Polis with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Polis and Latchi are known for
Polis Chrysochous sits in the far northwest of Cyprus, at the edge of the Akamas peninsula. It keeps a small, low-rise character: a compact old centre around the church square, tavernas on the pedestrianised streets, and a long municipal campsite behind the beach in the eucalyptus grove. Most visitors head to nearby Latchi (Latsi), the fishing harbour a couple of kilometres west, known for its fish tavernas and boat trips along the coast. From here the road continues to the Baths of Aphrodite and the Akamas trails, drawing walkers and nature travellers, especially in spring and autumn. Families and couples come in summer for the quieter beaches and the Blue Lagoon boat excursions rather than nightlife.
The drive across the island to Polis
Polis is on the opposite corner of the island from Larnaca, so the transfer is one of the longer ones. The route runs on the A5 and A1 motorways west toward Limassol, then continues on the A6 coastal motorway past Governor's Beach and Pissouri toward Paphos. This stretch is fast, dual-carriageway driving with sea views on the left for long sections. After Paphos the character changes: you leave the motorway and climb inland on the B7 through Stroumbi and the wine villages, a winding two-lane road that descends into the Chrysochous valley before reaching Polis and the coast at Latchi. Expect roughly two to two and a half hours depending on Limassol and Paphos traffic. The final descent is scenic but slower.
Practical tips for this long transfer
Because this is a long crossing, agree on a comfort stop in advance — the service areas near Limassol or a break at Paphos are the natural halfway points, useful with children or after a late flight. If your accommodation is in the hills above Polis (villages like Neo Chorio, Kathikas or Prodromi) rather than in the town or at Latchi harbour, give the exact address, as the final approach involves narrow village lanes where drivers need a specific pin. Note that Paphos Airport is much closer to Polis than Larnaca; if you have a choice of arrival airports, it can shorten this leg considerably. For evening arrivals, the inland B7 section after Paphos is unlit in places, so allow a little extra time.
