Private transfer from Larnaca International Airport to Larnaca City Centre

The centre runs along Finikoudes, the palm-lined seafront promenade with a swimming beach right beside the cafés and tavernas on Athens Avenue. A short walk south brings you to Larnaca Marina and the medieval Larnaca Castle, and just inland stands the church of Agios Lazaros, one of the island's most important Byzantine churches. Piale Pasha, the coastal strip continuing south, has fish tavernas favoured by locals. The old town's narrow lanes around the Turkish quarter and the covered market sit close to the seafront. Visitors here are a mix of summer beachgoers, city-break travellers who want to stay walking distance from the sand, and people using Larnaca as a base for day trips to the Troodos or the Salt Lake and Hala Sultan Tekke on the airport side.

Larnaca International Airport sits just southwest of the city, so this is one of the shortest transfers on the island. The usual route follows the coastal Artemidos Avenue (the airport road) northeast, passing the edge of the Larnaca Salt Lake and Hala Sultan Tekke mosque on your left before entering the built-up seafront. The whole drive is flat and urban rather than motorway, and traffic is normally light except during summer beach weekends and morning rush. Expect roughly fifteen minutes to reach Finikoudes. As you approach the centre the road narrows into one-way streets around the promenade and old town, so the final few hundred metres to a seafront hotel can be slow when parking is tight along Athens Avenue.

Because the trip is so short, keep your accommodation's exact street name handy: many small hotels and apartments cluster around Athens Avenue, Piale Pasha and the streets behind Finikoudes, where several are pedestrianised or one-way and a driver may need to drop you a few metres from the door. If you're heading straight to the marina area or the old town, mention it, as access differs from the beach hotels. The Salt Lake beside the airport road is worth a glance in winter and early spring, when flamingos gather there; by summer it dries out completely. For late arrivals, the seafront tavernas and bars along Finikoudes stay open well into the evening, so a night landing still leaves you within a short walk of somewhere to eat.
