Private transfer from Innsbruck Airport to Sölden
Door-to-door transfer from Innsbruck Airport to Sölden with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
Why people travel to Sölden
Sölden sits at the top of the Ötztal valley and runs on its glacier ski season, with the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers open from autumn and the Ski World Cup opening race held here each October. Skiers come for the BIG3 peaks and the Gaislachkogl gondola, which reaches the Ice Q restaurant and the 007 Elements installation built after Spectre was filmed here. Higher up sits Hochsölden, while Obergurgl and Vent lie further along the valley for quieter slopes and ski touring. In summer, hikers and cyclists take over, and many visitors combine a stay with the Aqua Dome thermal spa down in Längenfeld. The resort spreads along the valley floor with lifts and hotels on both sides.
The drive up the Ötztal valley
The route heads west from Innsbruck Airport along the A12 Inntal motorway, following the Inn river for most of the way. You leave the motorway at the Ötztal exit near Ötztal Bahnhof, then turn south onto the B186 Ötztalstraße, which climbs steadily through the valley villages of Ötz, Umhausen and Längenfeld before reaching Sölden. The motorway section is fast and flat; the valley road is the slower part, narrower and winding as it gains altitude alongside the Ötztaler Ache river. The whole journey is roughly 85 km and takes around 85 minutes in normal conditions. In winter the upper valley can carry snow and the final stretch demands care, though the road is regularly cleared.
Practical tips for this transfer
Sölden stretches for several kilometres along the valley, so give the exact hotel name and street rather than just "Sölden" — the Gaislachkogl base, the village centre and Hochsölden are separated by real driving time, and Hochsölden is reached by a steep private road that some vehicles use only in good conditions. During Ski World Cup weekend in late October and at peak winter changeover on Saturdays, the single valley road backs up, so allow extra time. Bring ski gear and boot bags to the driver's attention in advance so the right vehicle is sent. If you plan to visit the Aqua Dome, note it is in Längenfeld, about 20 minutes back down the valley, which is easy to combine with the transfer if arranged beforehand.
