Private transfer from Innsbruck Airport to Lech am Arlberg
Door-to-door transfer from Innsbruck Airport to Lech am Arlberg with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
Why people come to Lech am Arlberg
Lech sits at around 1,450 metres in Vorarlberg and is one half of the Lech Zürs area, linked by lift to St. Anton, St. Christoph, Stuben, Zürs and Warth-Schröcken within Ski Arlberg. Winter draws skiers who want reliable snow and a quieter, higher-end scene than St. Anton, including return visitors to Oberlech, the car-free hamlet reached by cable car above the village. The Rüfikopf cable car climbs from the centre. The Lech river runs through the village past the St. Nikolaus church. In summer, hikers use the Green Ring circuit and trails toward Zug and the Zugertal. Families, serious skiers and long-stay chalet guests make up most of the traffic.
The drive over the Arlberg and Flexenpass
The route runs west from Innsbruck Airport on the A12 inn-valley motorway, then joins the S16 Arlberg expressway past Landeck and Pians. Rather than the Arlberg road tunnel toward St. Anton, cars for Lech leave near Langen am Arlberg and climb toward Stuben and the Flexenpass. The Flexenstrasse is the memorable stretch: a narrow mountain road with galleries and avalanche sheds cut into the cliff, passing through Zürs before dropping into Lech. Expect motorway for most of the way and a slower, winding final 20 minutes. In heavy winter weather the pass can close and snow chains may be needed, which is why plan the last leg for daylight where possible.
Practical tips for this transfer
Give your exact accommodation when booking: central Lech, the Zug hamlet, Oberlech or Zürs all have different drop-off arrangements. Vehicles cannot drive into car-free Oberlech, so guests there are usually dropped at the valley station and continue by cable car or hotel snowcat, often with luggage handled separately — confirm your hotel's winter arrival procedure in advance. Winter Saturdays are the main changeover days and the Flexenpass road can be slow with resort traffic, so allow extra time for flight connections. Many Lech hotels run a Sunday-to-Sunday or week-based stay, which concentrates arrivals. For summer trips the pass is open and the drive is straightforward. A vehicle with winter tyres and chains is essential between roughly November and April.
