The drive runs west from Innsbruck on the A12 Inntal motorway toward Landeck, then climbs to the Arlberg. You can take the toll tunnel or, in good weather, the pass road through St. Anton and St. Christoph. After descending into Vorarlberg the route crosses into Switzerland near Feldkirch and joins the A13 south along the Rhine valley past Chur. The final stretch leaves the motorway at Reichenau and winds uphill through Flims before reaching Laax. Expect roughly two and a half hours. Most of the journey is fast motorway; the last twenty minutes is a steady mountain climb with bends, so passengers prone to car sickness should sit in front.

You cross an international border, so carry your passport or ID even though checks are usually quick. The Arlberg tunnel and Swiss motorways require tolls and a vignette; a private driver handles these, but it explains why the route follows the valley rather than cutting straight across. Tell your driver which base you need: Laax Murschetg and rocksresort are at the gondola, while Laax Dorf and Flims Waldhaus are separate stops a few minutes apart. In winter, snow over the Arlberg can slow the climb, so allow extra time for flights. For summer lake trips, ask to be dropped near Flims if Caumasee is your destination, as it is a short walk down from the road.
