Private transfer from Grenoble-Alpes-Isère Airport to Méribel
Door-to-door transfer from Grenoble-Alpes-Isère Airport to Méribel with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
Méribel in the Three Valleys
Méribel sits in the Vallée des Allues in the Savoie, and is the central hub of Les Trois Vallées, the linked ski area that also serves Courchevel and Val Thorens. The resort spreads across several levels: Méribel Centre around 1,450m, the higher and more snow-sure Méribel-Mottaret at 1,750m, plus Méribel Village and the old farming village of Les Allues below. Its chalet-style architecture is a deliberate, enforced look rather than a developer's accident. Winter brings skiers who want lift access to the whole Three Valleys from one base; summer draws hikers, mountain bikers and golfers to the Méribel golf course near the Altiport. Families favour the Centre for ski-in access and the Chaudanne lift area, where the gondolas and main services cluster.
The drive from Grenoble airport to Méribel
Grenoble-Alpes-Isère Airport sits at Saint-Étienne-de-Saint-Geoirs, well west of Grenoble itself. The route runs on motorway for most of the way: the A48 and A43 skirt around toward Chambéry and continue east through the Combe de Savoie toward Albertville. From there you join the N90, the main Tarentaise valley road, climbing gently past Moûtiers. The last stretch is the part passengers notice most — a steady series of switchbacks from Moûtiers up through Les Allues to Méribel, gaining well over a kilometre in altitude. Expect roughly two and a half hours in good conditions. In winter this climb can be slow behind traffic on Saturday changeover days, and the final road may require winter tyres or chains, which a professional driver will already carry.
Practical advice for this route
Tell your driver which level of Méribel you need, as Centre, Mottaret, Village and Les Allues are several minutes apart and chalet entrances can be hard to find. Share the exact chalet or residence name and, if you can, the lift or road it sits on — many are reached by narrow service roads that close to through traffic. Saturdays are the busy transfer day in ski season; booking an early slot helps you avoid queues on the Moûtiers climb. Grenoble sees fewer flights than Lyon or Geneva, so confirm your arrival terminal time carefully. Keep boots and a warm layer in your hand luggage: the airport may be mild while Méribel is below freezing. If you arrive mid-afternoon you can often reach the resort before shops and ski hire close.
