From Grenoble-Alpes-Isère Airport the route runs on motorway for most of its length: the A48 and A43 towards Chambéry and Albertville, then the dual-carriageway N90 up the Tarentaise valley past Moûtiers and Aime. This stretch is fast and straightforward, following the Isère river between the valley walls. The character changes at Bourg-Saint-Maurice, where the road leaves the valley floor and climbs the mountain road to Les Arcs. The final approach to Arc 2000 is a long series of tight hairpins gaining well over a thousand metres, slow and winding, with the resort buildings appearing above you. Allow around three hours in good conditions. In peak winter weeks, Saturday changeover traffic around Moûtiers and Bourg-Saint-Maurice can add significant time.

Arc 2000 and Arc 1950 are pedestrianised, so a transfer drops you at a designated set-down point or your residence's covered parking rather than at the door of a ski-in apartment; confirm the exact meeting point and residence name in advance, as the villages spread across several levels. Have your accommodation address and any parking access code ready, since reception desks sometimes close in the evening. In heavy snow the mountain road from Bourg-Saint-Maurice may require chains and can be held or convoyed; allow buffer time for late flights. If your flight lands late, note that Arc 2000's own facilities are limited at night. An alternative worth knowing: the funicular from Bourg-Saint-Maurice runs up to Arc 1600, useful if road conditions close the upper hairpins.
