As you approach the city the motorway feeds into the Rocade Sud and the riverside roads along the Isère, where you'll notice the mountains closing in on both sides. The final stretch into the centre involves narrower one-way streets around the old town, especially near Place Victor Hugo and the pedestrian zones, which naturally slows the last few minutes of the journey.
