Private transfer from Fuerteventura Airport to Costa Calma
Door-to-door transfer from Fuerteventura Airport to Costa Calma with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Costa Calma is known for
Costa Calma sits on the Jandía peninsula in southern Fuerteventura, built around a long palm-lined avenue of hotels and apartment complexes. Its main draw is Playa de Costa Calma and the wider Playas de Sotavento to the south, where the shallow lagoon at low tide makes it one of the best windsurfing and kitesurfing spots in Europe — the PWA World Cup is held here most summers. The resort attracts a lot of German and Northern European visitors, plus families and long-stay winter sun-seekers between November and March. It's quieter than Corralejo for nightlife but well placed for day trips to Morro Jable, La Pared and the Cofete beaches on the wild western side.
The drive south on the FV-2
The route runs almost entirely on the FV-2, the main coastal road heading south from the airport at El Matorral, past Puerto del Rosario and Gran Tarajal. The terrain is open and largely barren — dark volcanic plains, low hills and long straight stretches with the sea intermittently on your left. It's a dual carriageway for much of the way and an easy, steady drive of roughly 75 kilometres taking around an hour. The scenery becomes more striking near the Istmo de la Pared, the narrow neck of land before Jandía, where sand dunes drift across toward Sotavento. Costa Calma is signposted clearly and the resort has several exits, so tell your driver the hotel name in advance.
Practical tips for this transfer
Costa Calma spreads over several kilometres either side of the FV-2, with hotels grouped in different clusters, so having the exact hotel or apartment address ready avoids confusion on arrival. Many complexes sit on side roads off the main avenue rather than on it. There are few shops right beside the airport, so if you land late, stock up on essentials at a supermarket in Costa Calma once you arrive rather than expecting anything open along the road. The wind that makes Sotavento famous also means it can feel breezy and cooler in the evenings — worth a light layer even in summer. If you plan to explore Cofete or the west coast, note those roads are unpaved and not suited to standard transfer vehicles.
