Private transfer from Faro Airport to Lagos
Door-to-door transfer from Faro Airport to Lagos with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.

What Lagos is known for
Lagos sits on the western Algarve, where the flat coastline gives way to golden cliffs. The cove beaches south of town — Praia Dona Ana, Praia do Camilo and the rock stacks of Ponta da Piedade — draw families and photographers, reached by clifftop paths or by boat and kayak tours from the marina. The long, sandy Meia Praia stretches east toward the Palmares and Boavista golf courses. Inside the old town walls you'll find the Forte da Ponta da Bandeira, the former slave-market building on Praça Infante Dom Henrique, and the tiled Igreja de Santo António. Rua 25 de Abril fills with restaurants and bars in summer. Nearby Praia da Luz and Burgau appeal to quieter, longer-stay visitors, while surfers push on to Sagres.
The drive from Faro along the A22
The route runs almost entirely on the A22 (Via do Infante), the toll motorway that crosses the Algarve inland from the coast. You head west past Loulé, Albufeira, Alcantarilha and Portimão, with the Monchique hills visible to the north for much of the way. It is a straightforward, fast drive of roughly 90 kilometres, usually around 60 to 70 minutes with light traffic. The final stretch leaves the motorway near Odiáxere and drops toward Lagos on the EN125, crossing the marina bridge into town. If your accommodation is in the old town, expect narrow one-way streets and limited car access near the walls; drivers will get as close as regulations allow before the pedestrianised core.
Practical tips for this transfer
The A22 is fully electronic-tolled, so a private transfer saves you the hassle of registering a rental car for tolls — a common trap for first-timers. Tell the driver in advance if you're staying in a villa around Meia Praia, Luz or Porto de Mós, as these are spread out and satnav pins are often inaccurate; a landmark or resort name helps. If you're heading straight to a Ponta da Piedade boat tour or a golf tee time at Palmares, allow extra buffer in July and August, when the Portimão–Lagos section slows. For the old town, agree a drop-off point near Praça Gil Eanes or the marina, since vehicles can't reach many guesthouses directly. Late-night arrivals are fine — the motorway is quiet after dark.
