The route runs almost entirely on the A22 (Via do Infante), the toll motorway that crosses the Algarve inland from the coast. You leave Faro Airport, join the A22 westbound and stay on it past Loulé, Albufeira and Silves for most of the journey, so the terrain is easy inland driving rather than winding coast road. The trip is around 65 kilometres and normally takes about 55 minutes with light traffic. Near Portimão you exit and drop onto local roads for the final few kilometres into Alvor, where the approach narrows as you reach the seafront resorts and the older streets near the harbour. In July and August the last stretch and the resort access roads can slow with beach traffic.

Give your driver the exact resort name, as several large complexes sit close together along the seafront — Pestana Dom João II, Pestana Delfim, Pestana Alvor Praia and Alvor Baía all have separate entrances, and some are set back from the main road. If you are staying inside the old town, note that the core streets are narrow and partly pedestrian, so the drop-off is usually at a nearby square or the edge of the village rather than the door; a short walk with luggage may follow. For the Passadiços de Alvor boardwalk, ask to be set down near the eastern car park by the estuary. The A22 uses electronic tolling with no cash booths, which your transfer handles for you, so no roadside stops are needed on arrival.
