Private transfer from EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg to Ischgl
Door-to-door transfer from EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg to Ischgl with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Ischgl is and who goes there
Ischgl sits at the head of the Paznaun valley in Tyrol, Austria, linked by the Silvretta Arena cable cars to Samnaun across the Swiss border. The resort is built around the Pardatschgratbahn and Silvretta gondolas that climb to the Idalp mid-mountain area. It draws two clear crowds: skiers and snowboarders from December to early May, and the après-ski scene around the Trofana Arena and Kuhstall, plus the season-opening and closing Top of the Mountain concerts. Summer brings hikers heading up the Paznaun and toward the Silvretta reservoir. The village centre is compact, with hotels, ski depots and the pedestrian zone packed tightly along the valley floor. Neighbouring Galtür, Kappl and See share the same ski pass region.
The drive up the Paznaun valley
From EuroAirport the route runs on motorway for most of the way: south past Zürich, along the Walensee toward Sargans, then across into Austria near Feldkirch. The last motorway stretch is the S16 Arlberg road down to Landeck, often through the long Arlberg tunnel. At Landeck you leave the fast roads and turn onto the B188, which climbs the Paznaun valley through Pians, See and Kappl before reaching Ischgl. Expect roughly three to four hours depending on traffic and conditions. The final hour is a steady two-lane valley road with occasional slow stretches behind buses and gritting trucks in winter. It is scenic but winding, so passengers prone to car sickness should plan for the last section.
Practical tips for this transfer
In winter the Paznaun valley road and the Arlberg route can close or require chains after heavy snow, so build in buffer time before flights and confirm winter tyres with your driver. Ischgl's centre is partly pedestrianised and many hotels sit on side lanes, so give the exact hotel name and street; drivers often drop at the nearest vehicle access point and staff help with ski bags from there. A cross-border note: Samnaun is in Switzerland and reached on foot or by lift, but the road transfer stays on the Austrian side via Landeck. If you are carrying skis or boards, mention it when booking so luggage space is reserved. For early flights, the pre-dawn descent to Landeck is quieter but can be icy.
