Door-to-door transfer from Dubrovnik Airport to Korcula with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Korcula island is known for
Korcula Town sits on a small walled peninsula, with narrow lanes laid out in a herringbone pattern to break the wind. You'll find St Mark's Cathedral, the Land Gate with its Revelin tower, and the house linked to Marco Polo. In summer the Moreska sword dance is performed near the old walls. Just east, Lumbarda is the place for sandy beaches like Vela Przina and Bilin Zal, plus Grk white wine from its vineyards. Pupnatska Luka on the south coast is the island's best-known cove. Inland villages such as Zrnovo, Pupnat and Blato are quiet and agricultural, while Vela Luka anchors the far west. Visitors are mainly couples, wine-focused travellers and families, busiest from June to September.
The drive to Orebic and the ferry crossing
Because Korcula is an island, the transfer combines a road journey with a short ferry. From the airport at Cilipi you head north past Dubrovnik on the coastal D8, then cross the Peljesac Bridge near Komarna, which now bypasses the old Neum border section entirely. You continue the length of the Peljesac peninsula, passing the salt pans and stone walls at Ston, before a winding descent to Orebic on the far tip. The road along Peljesac is scenic but curvy, with vineyards and sea views. At Orebic a short car ferry crosses the channel to Korcula. Driving time to Orebic is around two and a half hours; the ferry itself is roughly 15 minutes plus waiting.
Planning the ferry and old-town arrival
Two crossings serve Korcula from Orebic: the car ferry to Domince, about 3 km from the old town, and a passenger catamaran that lands right by the walls. If your driver is bringing you all the way, you'll use the car ferry, so allow extra time in July and August when queues build in the early afternoon. Cars can't enter the walled old town, so drop-off is at the edge near the main gate and the rest is on foot over cobbles and steps — pack light or use a small case with good wheels. Ferry schedules thin out in the evening and off-season, so give your driver your flight details early to line the crossing up. If your accommodation is in Lumbarda or Vela Luka, mention it, as that changes the drop-off point.
