Cavtat is the closest town to Dubrovnik Airport, which actually sits inland at Čilipi. The drive is only a few kilometres and usually takes around ten to fifteen minutes. You leave the terminal, pass through the edge of Čilipi and drop down toward the coast on a local road, with the last stretch descending past hillside houses to the waterfront. There is no motorway involved and no mountain pass — it is a straightforward coastal descent. The final approach into town narrows, and the harbour area itself is largely pedestrian, so drivers often stop at the nearest accessible point to your hotel rather than the door. This is by far the shortest transfer from this airport, which makes it convenient for late arrivals and early morning departures.

Because Cavtat is so close, this transfer works well even for a short stopover. If your hotel is on the peninsula or along the pedestrian promenade, tell the driver the property name in advance so they can use the correct drop-off point — vehicles cannot reach the harbourfront itself. From Cavtat, the passenger boat to Dubrovnik's Old Port runs frequently in season and is a relaxed alternative to driving into the busy city. Cavtat is also the natural starting point for exploring inland Konavle, its vineyards and the folklore village of Čilipi near the airport. If you are flying out early, the very short distance means you don't need to leave your hotel long before check-in. Carry small cash for the water taxi and beach cafés, as some do not take cards.
