Private transfer from Dalaman Airport to Yalikavak

Yalikavak sits on the northwest tip of the Bodrum Peninsula, built around Palmarina Yalikavak, a deep-water marina that draws superyachts and the restaurant-and-boutique crowd through July and August. The old town behind it keeps narrow lanes and a small fishing harbour, while the hillside windmills mark the ridge road toward Gümüşlük, the fishing village and ancient Myndos site famous for sunset seafood by the water. Swimmers head for Xuma Beach and the smaller coves at Tilkicik and Gökçebel; families and second-home residents fill Gündoğan bay just to the east. It is quieter and more residential in spring and autumn, when the walking and the sea are at their best and the marina is calmer.

This is one of the longer transfers from Dalaman, roughly 250 km and around three and a half hours, because Yalikavak sits on the far western end of a different peninsula from the airport. The route heads inland via the D400/D550 corridor toward Muğla, climbing the wooded Sakar Pass with its long series of hairpin bends before dropping toward Milas. From there the road runs out onto the Bodrum Peninsula and then over the ridge toward the north coast. The final stretch into Yalikavak is a winding descent past the windmills, with tight turns and sea views opening up as you drop into town. Terrain shifts from pine-covered mountains to open coastal country.

Because the journey is long, break points matter: the Muğla area and the Milas junction are the sensible places to stop, and it is worth telling your driver in advance if you are travelling with children. Yalikavak spreads across several bays, so give the exact neighbourhood or complex — marina side, Gündoğan, Tilkicik, or the hillside toward Gümüşlük — as these can be twenty minutes apart on narrow roads. Larger villa complexes have more than one gate; a location pin saves circling. Note that Milas-Bodrum Airport is much closer to Yalikavak; if you have a choice of arrival airport, that shortens the drive considerably. In peak summer the Sakar Pass and the peninsula roads slow with traffic, so allow extra time for evening arrivals.
