Private transfer from Dalaman Airport to Turgutreis
Door-to-door transfer from Dalaman Airport to Turgutreis with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Turgutreis is like when you arrive
Turgutreis sits on the western tip of the Bodrum Peninsula, named after the Ottoman admiral born nearby. The town is built around D-Marin Turgutreis, one of the largest marinas on this coast, with restaurants and shops lining the quays. The big weekly draw is the Saturday market, which fills several streets with produce, textiles and spices. West-facing beaches make it known for sunsets over the Greek island of Kos, clearly visible on the horizon. Nearby villages give it range: Akyarlar and Kadıkalesi for calmer swimming, Gümüşlük for seafood and its sunken-city bay, and Yalıkavak for a smarter marina scene. Summer brings Turkish holiday families and windsurfers, who use the reliable Meltemi wind off Akyarlar. Spring and autumn are quieter and better for walking.
The drive from Dalaman across to the Bodrum Peninsula
This is one of the longer transfers from Dalaman, since Turgutreis is on a different peninsula from the airport. Expect roughly three and a half hours over about 245 km. The route heads inland from the coast, climbing through the mountains around Muğla on the D550/D330 corridor, where the road twists over forested passes before opening onto the plateau. You then descend towards Milas and turn west onto the peninsula, passing olive groves and the reservoir near Mumcular. The final stretch crosses the Bodrum Peninsula's low hills, with the road narrowing and winding as you approach the western tip. Most of the journey is on good dual and single carriageway, but the mountain and peninsula sections are slower. It is worth planning a short stop, as there are few good places to break the trip once you leave the main road.
Practical points for this route to Turgutreis
Because this is a long transfer, note that Milas–Bodrum Airport is much closer to Turgutreis than Dalaman; if you have a choice of arrival airports, that matters. When booking, give the driver your exact address or hotel, as Turgutreis spreads into separate districts and neighbouring villages like Akyarlar and Kadıkalesi, each reached by different turnings. Many holiday complexes here sit on hillsides with steep, narrow access lanes, so confirm whether the vehicle can reach your door or a nearby drop-off point. Traffic through the town builds sharply on Saturdays around the market, so allow extra time if arriving then. For a late flight, factor in the mountain section near Muğla, which is slower after dark. Keep water and any medication in your hand luggage rather than the boot, given the journey length.
