Private transfer from Dalaman Airport to Fethiye
Door-to-door transfer from Dalaman Airport to Fethiye with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Fethiye is known for
Fethiye sits on a sheltered bay on Turkey's southwest coast. The town centre keeps a working fishing harbour and a marina next to the fish market, where you buy fresh fish and have a nearby restaurant cook it. Above the town you can walk up to the Lycian rock tombs cut into the cliff, most notably the Tomb of Amyntas. Çalış Beach, a long pebble strip north of town, draws families and long-stay visitors and is a well-known sunset spot. Most people use Fethiye as a base for Ölüdeniz and its Blue Lagoon, the paragliding launches off Babadağ, and boat trips around the Twelve Islands. Hikers arrive in spring and autumn for the Lycian Way, which starts nearby at Ovacık.
The drive from Dalaman to Fethiye
The route runs southwest on the D400 coastal highway for roughly 50 kilometres, and the journey usually takes about 50 minutes with normal traffic. Leaving the airport you cross flat farmland around Dalaman before the road climbs over a low wooded ridge and drops toward the coast. The road is mostly a good dual or wide single carriageway, so it feels quick and smooth for most of the way. As you approach Fethiye you pass the turnoff for Çalış Beach before reaching the town itself, where streets narrow around the marina and old quarter. If you are heading beyond Fethiye to Ölüdeniz or Hisarönü, expect a further climb up a winding mountain road past Ovacık, which adds noticeably to the time.
Practical tips for this transfer
Tell the driver your exact area, since "Fethiye" covers the town centre, Çalış Beach, Karagözler along the marina hillside, and inland Ovacık and Hisarönü. Karagözler and the upper Ölüdeniz road involve steep, tight turns that large vehicles handle slowly, so factor that in. If your accommodation is in the old town near the fish market, some lanes are pedestrianised and the drop-off may be a short walk from the door. Dalaman handles heavy summer charter traffic, so allow buffer time on departure. For Çalış, note that a small water taxi links it to Fethiye harbour, which is handy once you arrive. Bring water for the drive in July and August, when the coast is hot, and confirm any onward Ölüdeniz leg in advance.
