Private transfer from Cork Airport to Cobh

Cobh sits on Great Island in Cork Harbour and was the Titanic's final port of call in 1912, a story told at the Titanic Experience on the old White Star Line pier and at the Cobh Heritage Centre beside the railway station. The steep waterfront is topped by St Colman's Cathedral, and the row of terraced houses climbing West View is widely photographed as the 'Deck of Cards'. From the town quay, boats run to Spike Island, a former fort and prison. Cruise ships dock right at the deepwater berth, so the seafront fills on ship days. The route leaves the airport on the N27, joins the South Ring Road (N40) around the south of Cork city, then takes the N25 east toward Waterford. You turn off at the Cobh/Fota junction onto the R624, which runs across Fota Island, past Fota Wildlife Park and Fota House, then over the narrow single-lane Belvelly Bridge onto Great Island. The final stretch winds down through Cobh's terraced streets to the waterfront. It is roughly 25 km and usually around 30 minutes, mostly dual carriageway until the R624. Expect some queuing at Belvelly Bridge and slow, tight streets near the seafront on cruise days, when the town is busy with tour coaches.

If your visit centres on the Titanic Experience or the Heritage Centre, ask to be dropped near Casement Square or the station rather than at the top of town, as the hills between the cathedral and the quay are steep and hard with luggage. On cruise-ship days the immediate waterfront can be closed to traffic, so agree a nearby pick-up point in advance. Fota Wildlife Park makes an easy stop on the R624 if you are travelling with children, since it sits directly on the route. For a return to the airport, allow extra time in summer and around big harbour events; the single-lane Belvelly Bridge is the one real pinch point, and there is no fast bypass around it.
