Private transfer from Cork Airport to Blarney

Almost everyone comes for Blarney Castle and the Blarney Stone, set in the battlements you reach after a tight spiral staircase — leaning back to kiss it is the tradition. The castle grounds are worth the visit on their own: the Rock Close with its ancient yew trees and druidic stones, the Poison Garden beside the keep, and the riverside walks. In the village itself, Blarney Woollen Mills is a large shop and café complex beside the green, and there are pubs and guesthouses around the square. Day-trippers arrive in coaches from spring through autumn, so early morning is calmer. Golfers use the nearby Blarney Golf Resort, and the village is a common base for touring County Cork.

The route runs north from the airport on the N27 towards the city, then joins the N40 South Ring Road and swings onto the N20 heading toward Mallow and Limerick. It is dual carriageway for most of the way, skirting the western edge of Cork city rather than passing through the centre. After a few kilometres on the N20 you take the Blarney exit and follow a shorter local road into the village. The whole trip is inland and generally quick, usually around 25 minutes outside peak times. The final approach narrows as you reach the village green and the castle car park area, where coach traffic can slow things briefly during the summer months.

Blarney is close enough to the airport that a private car is often the simplest option — there is no direct rail link, and bus connections usually require changing in Cork city. If your flight lands late, arrange the transfer in advance, as taxis are not always waiting at quieter hours. Give your driver the name of your guesthouse or hotel, since accommodation is spread between the village square, the mill area and roads out toward Tower and Cloghroe. If you are visiting the castle for the day and then continuing, the same route back to the airport is short, so a set pickup time works well. Wear sturdy shoes for the castle steps, and note the grounds close earlier in winter.
