Door-to-door transfer from Copenhagen Airport to Malmo with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What travellers come to Malmo for
Malmo is Sweden's third-largest city and sits directly across the strait from Copenhagen. The old core, Gamla Staden, centres on Stortorget and the smaller Lilla Torg, a cobbled square lined with cafés and half-timbered buildings. Along the waterfront, Västra Hamnen (the Western Harbour) is the redeveloped docks district around the Turning Torso tower, popular with residents for evening walks and summer swimming off its wooden decks. Ribersborg beach, known locally as Ribban, stretches west with its open-air Kallbadhus cold bathhouse. Business travellers often head to Hyllie, near the Emporia shopping centre and the arena. Families and day-trippers also use Malmo as a base for Lund, a short train ride north. Möllevången draws a younger crowd for its market square and cheap eating.
Crossing the Øresund Bridge to Malmo
The route leaves Copenhagen Airport at Kastrup and joins the E20, which carries you straight onto the Øresund link. This is the part passengers notice: the road first dips into the Drogden tunnel beneath the strait, surfaces on the artificial island of Peberholm, then climbs onto the roughly eight-kilometre cable-stayed bridge with open water on both sides. On a clear day you can see both coastlines during the crossing. The whole journey is motorway from start to finish and normally takes around 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic and border checks. Once on the Swedish side the E20 feeds directly into Malmo, with quick exits for Hyllie, the city centre and Västra Hamnen. There are no winding roads or steep gradients — it is flat and direct throughout.
Border checks, currency and timing tips
Because you cross from Denmark into Sweden, carry a valid passport or national ID card — Swedish police run identity checks at the bridge, and these can add a few minutes at peak times. Sweden uses the Swedish krona, not the Danish krone or the euro, though card payment is accepted almost everywhere, so there is little need for cash. Time changes are worth noting only in that both countries share the same time zone, so no adjustment is needed. If you are heading to Hyllie or Emporia, the transfer drops you right there without entering the old-town streets, which are narrow and partly pedestrianised around Lilla Torg. For the Western Harbour, tell your driver in advance, as access is via the newer road network north of the centre rather than through Gamla Staden.
