Private transfer from Copenhagen Airport to Lund

Lund is a Swedish university city built around its Romanesque cathedral, the Lund Domkyrka, with its astronomical clock and stone crypt. Founded in the 11th century, it draws academics, researchers and students to Lund University, one of Scandinavia's oldest. Visitors walk the cobbled streets of the old town around Stortorget and Kyrkogatan, spend afternoons in Lundagård park, and visit Kulturen, an open-air museum of historic buildings. The Botanical Garden near the centre is free and popular in spring and summer. Term-time brings a busy, walkable atmosphere; graduation and Valborg (30 April) fill the streets. Many arrivals are conference delegates heading to the university and science parks such as ESS and MAX IV on the northeast edge of the city.

The route leaves Copenhagen Airport at Kastrup and heads straight onto the Øresund Bridge and its Drogden tunnel section, crossing from Denmark into Sweden. You surface on the artificial island of Peberholm before the bridge lifts you over the strait, with open water on both sides and Malmö ahead. On the Swedish side the road becomes the E22 motorway, skirting Malmö and running inland through flat farmland toward Lund. The whole trip is motorway until the final few minutes, when you exit into Lund's grid of streets. It is short — usually around 40 minutes with clear traffic. Border spot checks can occur on the Swedish side, so keep passports or ID within reach. Rush hour around Malmö is the main thing that adds time.

Carry a valid passport or national ID even for a short hop: Sweden runs identity checks at the bridge, and a private car does not exempt you. Note the time change — Sweden and Denmark share the same clock, so no adjustment, but currency does change from Danish to Swedish kronor, and central Lund is largely cashless anyway. Lund's old town has pedestrianised and one-way cobbled streets around the cathedral, so a driver may set you down a short walk from a hotel entrance rather than at the door. If you are heading to the university hospital (SUS), ESS or Ideon science park, tell the driver in advance, as these are on the city's edges rather than the centre. Winter mornings can bring fog on the flat approach.
