The point off the beach is one of Sicily's best-known kitesurfing and windsurfing spots, busiest from late spring through September when the afternoon wind picks up. Off-season it is very quiet, with a handful of beach bars and seafood places open mainly in summer. The historic centre of Modica, with its baroque churches and chocolate shops, is a short drive inland.

The route runs south and east across the Ragusa hinterland, covering roughly 50 kilometres in around 55 minutes. From the airport you head towards Ragusa, then pick up the roads down towards Modica and the coast, crossing farmland, dry-stone walls and carob and olive country typical of this corner of the province. The terrain is gently rolling inland rather than mountainous, though there are dips through valleys. The final stretch drops down to the shoreline near Marina di Modica, where the road becomes a grid of quiet residential streets running parallel to the beach. Signposting for the individual apartment complexes is limited, so the last few minutes are the fiddly part. There is no direct motorway the whole way; expect a mix of main roads and slower local sections.

If you arrive outside summer, note that shops and beach bars in the frazione may be closed, so it is worth stocking up in Modica town on the way in. Travelling with kitesurfing gear or several suitcases is common here in summer, so mention bulky luggage when booking so the right vehicle is sent.
