Private transfer from Chambéry-Savoie Mont Blanc Airport to Val-d'Isère
Door-to-door transfer from Chambéry-Savoie Mont Blanc Airport to Val-d'Isère with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Val-d'Isère is and who goes there
Val-d'Isère sits at about 1,850 m in the upper Tarentaise valley, linked with Tignes to form the Espace Killy ski area. Winter is the main season: skiers come for the snow-sure altitude, the Face de Bellevarde run used in the 1992 Albertville Olympics, and the Solaise and Bellevarde gondolas rising straight from the resort. The layout spreads across several districts — La Daille at the entrance, the central Val Village around the baroque church of Saint-Bernard, and Le Fornet further up the valley toward the Iseran. In summer, a smaller crowd of hikers and cyclists arrives when the Col de l'Iseran opens, along with glacier skiing on the Pissaillas above Le Fornet.
The drive up the Tarentaise valley
The route runs on the A43 and A430 motorways toward Albertville, then follows the N90 dual carriageway through Moûtiers and Aime to Bourg-Saint-Maurice. This first two-thirds is fast and mostly flat along the valley floor. After Bourg-Saint-Maurice the character changes: the D1090 and D902 climb through Séez and Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise, tightening into a winding mountain road for the final stretch up to Val-d'Isère. Expect roughly two to two and a half hours in normal conditions. The last section gains altitude quickly, so passengers prone to motion sickness will feel the switchbacks. In winter the climb above Bourg-Saint-Maurice is where snow and chains matter most.
Practical advice for this transfer
On Saturdays in peak ski season the N90 and the climb above Bourg-Saint-Maurice can clog with changeover traffic, so an early or midweek arrival saves real time. Tell your driver which district you need: La Daille, central Val Village, or Le Fornet, since they are spread out and the central streets are narrow and partly pedestrianised. Many accommodations sit above the road with steps or short internal shuttles, so keep boots and essentials accessible rather than deep in a bag. Val-d'Isère is car-light in the centre, and free resort shuttle buses connect the districts once you arrive, which is worth knowing if your lodging is away from the lifts. Confirm the exact drop-off point in advance.
