You leave the motorway for the D902, which climbs steadily through Taninges and over the Col des Gets, passing the resort of Les Gets at the top of the pass. The final descent into Morzine is a sequence of switchbacks and valley road alongside the Dranse. Allow around two hours in good conditions; in winter the mountain section from Cluses can be snow-covered and slower, and traffic peaks sharply on Saturday changeover days.

Morzine is spread along the valley, so give your driver the name of your chalet or hotel and the nearest lift — Pléney, Super-Morzine or the Prodains cable car for Avoriaz — rather than just "Morzine centre". Many chalet streets are narrow, one-way or restricted in the pedestrian core, and in deep winter the last approach may need chains, so a specific address saves time. If you're heading onward to Avoriaz, note that the village itself is car-free; transfers drop at the Prodains Express cable car. Chambéry is a smaller airport than Geneva and sees fewer flights, so confirm your inbound details clearly. For early departures, factor in that the Col des Gets can be the slow point after fresh snowfall, and leave extra margin on Saturdays.
