The final approach into Villasimius flattens out past the Notteri lagoon. In peak summer, an early-morning or late-evening departure avoids the worst of the coastal bottlenecks. There is little shade and few reliable service stops on the Solanas stretch, so bring water for children. If you plan day trips to Costa Rei or Castiadas further north, the same SS125 continues in that direction. Outside roughly May to September much of the town's tourist infrastructure closes, so confirm your accommodation and any dining plans in advance rather than assuming things will be open on arrival.
