Private transfer from Burgas Airport to Sunny Beach
Door-to-door transfer from Burgas Airport to Sunny Beach with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Sunny Beach is and who goes there
Sunny Beach (Slanchev Bryag) is Bulgaria's largest Black Sea resort, a dense strip of hotels, apartment blocks and clubs behind a long sandy beach. It fills with young crowds and stag and hen groups in July and August, drawn to venues along Cacao Beach and the main strip, while families tend to prefer the quieter northern end near the dunes. Just south sits the UNESCO-listed old town of Nesebar on its peninsula, reached in minutes and worth a half-day for its wooden houses and medieval churches. The resort is a summer operation: most bars, water parks like Action Aquapark, and beach services run roughly May to September, then wind down. Off-season it is largely shuttered, so time your visit to what you actually want.
The drive along Route 9 past Nesebar
The journey is short and mostly flat coastal driving. From Burgas Airport you head north on Route 9, the main coast road, skirting Burgas Bay and crossing the low ground around the salt lagoons. The road runs through open country and small settlements before reaching the Nesebar junction, where the peninsula is visible on the right. From there it is only a few more minutes north into Sunny Beach itself. Expect around 40 minutes in normal conditions. The final approach into the resort is the part to note: Sunny Beach is a sprawling grid with many separate hotel complexes and no single centre, so the driver will need your exact hotel name and block, not just "Sunny Beach". Summer weekend traffic near the Nesebar roundabout can add time.
Practical tips for this transfer
Give the exact hotel name and, if you have it, the complex or street, because many Sunny Beach properties share similar names and internal roads are pedestrianised or one-way in parts. A private transfer drops you at or near your entrance, which matters with luggage since the resort has few taxis waiting outside peak hours. Burgas Airport is busiest with charter flights on summer weekends, so build in buffer time on departure day for the Nesebar junction. If you plan to visit Nesebar old town, note cars cannot drive onto the peninsula freely; ask to be set down at the causeway car park. Cash in Bulgarian lev is useful for beach loungers and small bars, though card acceptance in the resort is good. Bring the driver's contact for arrival coordination.
