It is not a mountain road, but the last few kilometres involve several junctions rather than one straight run in.

Turgutreis spreads along the coast in distinct pockets — the marina and centre, Akçabük, and the beach strips toward Kadıkalesi and Akyarlar. Give the exact hotel name or the marina berth number rather than just "Turgutreis", because a wrong district can add fifteen minutes of doubling back. Many small hotels sit on narrow one-way streets behind the promenade where large vehicles cannot pull right up; ask where the driver will actually stop. If you arrive on a late flight, note that peninsula shops and the market are closed, so buy water or snacks at the airport. For onward day trips, the ferry from Turgutreis to Kos runs from the marina, so a return transfer timed to the boat is worth arranging in advance rather than relying on taxis at the harbour.
