Travel times lengthen noticeably in July and August when the coastal road carries heavy resort traffic.

Because the journey is long, share your exact villa or hotel location and its access point in advance — many Kalkan rentals sit on steep private lanes, and knowing the nearest turning saves time and confusion on arrival. Ask about a comfort stop; the Fethiye area is a natural halfway point for a rest, water and restrooms. If you land late, note that the winding D400 descent into Kalkan is best driven by someone who knows it in the dark, so a professional driver matters more here than on shorter runs.
