Private transfer from Bodrum Milas Airport to Fethiye
Door-to-door transfer from Bodrum Milas Airport to Fethiye with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Fethiye is known for
Fethiye sits around a working harbour, with its marina, fish market and the tangled lanes of the Paspatur old town where you can eat grilled catch bought from the stalls. Above the town are the Lycian rock tombs, including the Tomb of Amyntas cut into the cliff. Most visitors base themselves nearby: Çalış Beach for sunsets and a seafront promenade, or Ölüdeniz with its Blue Lagoon, about 15 km south over the hill. Ölüdeniz draws families and paragliders, who launch off Babadağ mountain. Walkers use Fethiye as the western end of the Lycian Way, and boats leave the harbour for the Twelve Islands tour. The abandoned Greek village of Kayaköy sits inland. Summer is busiest; spring and autumn suit hikers.
The drive along the D550 and D400
The route runs roughly 250 km and takes about three and a half hours in normal traffic. From Milas Airport the road climbs inland toward Muğla, an upland stretch of pine and winding sections rather than motorway. After Muğla it descends toward the coast and joins the D400 through Ortaca and Dalaman, passing the agricultural plains and greenhouses of the Dalaman river valley. Dalaman also has its own airport, which you'll pass close to. The final approach into Fethiye brings the bay and the Gulf of Fethiye into view. The road is generally good two-lane highway, but expect slow, twisting sections in the hills and heavier traffic near the towns in summer. There are fuel stations and roadside cafés along the D400 if you want a break.
Practical advice for this transfer
Check whether Dalaman Airport is closer to your final stop: it sits about an hour from Fethiye, while Milas is around three and a half hours away, so this route makes sense mainly when your flight lands at Bodrum. Tell the driver your exact resort area in advance — Fethiye centre, Çalış, Ölüdeniz, Hisarönü or Ovacık — because they are spread apart and the last stretch to Ölüdeniz involves a steep, hairpin descent. Ölüdeniz and Kayaköy hotels often sit on narrow lanes; a smaller vehicle handles these better than a minibus. Given the length of the drive, bring water and plan a comfort stop, especially with children. If you arrive on a summer evening, allow extra time for coastal-town traffic near Ortaca and around the Fethiye seafront.
