As you approach the peninsula the road climbs over a ridge before the descent toward the coast, and you get your first view of the bay and castle on the way down. The final stretch into town narrows and can slow to a crawl in July and August when traffic backs up near the marina and the bus station. Expect around 40 minutes with light traffic; allow longer at weekend changeover times. If you are staying in Gümbet, Bitez or Turgutreis further west, the road branches off before the town centre, so tell your driver the exact resort.

Milas Airport has separate domestic and international terminals a short distance apart, so confirm which one you land at when booking the pickup. The international terminal is busiest with charter flights from May to October, and the arrivals hall can be crowded after several planes land together. There are few late-night options for onward travel, which makes a pre-booked transfer worthwhile for evening arrivals. If your hotel is deep in the old town or in a car-free lane, ask the driver for the nearest vehicle access point and be ready for a short walk with luggage.
