Private transfer from Biarritz Pays Basque Airport to Bidart
Door-to-door transfer from Biarritz Pays Basque Airport to Bidart with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Bidart is known for
Bidart sits on the cliffs just south of Biarritz, with a compact centre built around the church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption and a village square with its pelota fronton. Its coastline is what draws people: Plage du Centre and Plage de l'Uhabia for families, and Plage de Parlementia, a reef break that pulls serious surfers when the winter swell arrives. The Ilbarritz golf and training centre sits on the northern edge toward Biarritz, and the small Chapelle Sainte-Madeleine gives a clear view over the coast to the Rhune. Summer brings holiday families and campers to the sites along the Uhabia valley; the rest of the year it stays largely residential, quieter than neighbouring Biarritz and Guéthary just to the south.
The drive from the airport to Bidart
The airport sits on the Biarritz–Anglet boundary, and Bidart is the next town south along the coast, so the transfer is short — usually around 15 minutes. Drivers either take the A63 for a couple of junctions and drop down toward the coast, or follow the D810, the old coast road that runs through the edge of Biarritz before reaching Bidart. Traffic is the main variable: in July and August the D810 and the approaches to the beaches back up, and the A63 can slow near the Biarritz exits. The final stretch into the village centre involves narrow streets around the church square, and the beach roads down the Uhabia valley are tight, so a driver will often set you down close rather than at the sand itself.
Practical tips for this transfer
Give the exact name of your beach or campsite, not just "Bidart": the centre, the Uhabia valley campsites, the Ilbarritz side and the Parlementia clifftop are spread out and reached by different turnings. If you're staying at one of the large campsites off the D810, note the site name and pitch reference, as several sit close together. Summer parking near the beaches is very limited, which is a good reason to be dropped door-to-door rather than driving yourself. For an early flight out, factor in that the D810 through Biarritz is slow in peak season — allow extra time. Surfers heading to Parlementia should know the swell is strongest in autumn and winter; in summer the reef often goes flat and the sheltered village beaches are the better bet.
