Novi Sad is a common stop before or after Belgrade, and a private car makes it easy to add a short halt at Sremski Karlovci or the Fruška Gora wineries on the way. Carry some Serbian dinars, as many smaller cafés and the Strand beach kiosks prefer cash. There are no border crossings on this route, so no passport checks en route.
