Peschici sits on a white limestone cliff above the northern Gargano coast, its whitewashed old town packed with stepped alleys, the Norman-Swabian castle and the trabucchi fishing platforms below. Most visitors come in July and August: families for the sandy coves at Baia di San Nicola, Baia Zaiana and Marina di Peschici, and hikers heading into the Umbra Forest inside the Gargano National Park. The old town's lanes are too narrow for cars, so the marina and the beach hotels along the SP52 hold much of the accommodation. Day-trippers use it as a base for Vieste, Peschici's ferry links to the Tremiti Islands, and the sanctuaries at Monte Sant'Angelo. Out of season it is quiet, with many beach businesses closed.

The route runs roughly 200 km and takes about three hours. From Bari Karol Wojtyła the driver joins the A14 motorway north past Andria, Barletta and Cerignola, then leaves near Foggia. From there the road turns toward the Gargano promontory, following the SS89 through Manfredonia and up the coast, or crossing inland through Vico del Gargano depending on traffic. The final stretch is the memorable part: the SP52 and SP53 climb and wind above the sea with tight bends, tunnels and headland views before dropping down to Peschici's marina. The last approach into town is steep and narrow, and the historic centre itself is closed to through traffic. Expect the motorway portion to be fast and the last 40 minutes to be slow, curving mountain-and-coast driving.

Give your driver the exact hotel or B&B name and its zone, since Peschici spreads across the old town, the marina and the scattered beach resorts along the SP52 toward Vieste. If you are staying inside the historic centre, tell the driver in advance: vehicles cannot enter the pedestrian lanes, so you will be dropped at the nearest square or parking area and walk the last part, sometimes up steps. Pack light for that reason. In peak August weekends the coastal road out of Vieste and Peschici backs up, so allow extra time for a departure transfer to catch a flight. Motion-sensitive passengers should sit in front for the winding final descent.
