Platja de la Pineda belongs to the municipality of Vila-seca, on the Costa Daurada between Tarragona city and Salou. The Aquopolis water park sits right on the beachfront, and the resort is only a short drive from PortAventura World and Ferrari Land. Golfers use the nearby Lumine Golf Club in the same coastal strip. It's busiest from June to September; outside summer it stays quiet, with residents and off-season visitors walking the promenade towards the Racó de Salou headland and the Sèquia Major wetland reserve.

The route runs almost entirely on motorway. From Barcelona-El Prat you join the AP-7 southbound and follow it past Vilafranca del Penedès and El Vendrell, with the Mediterranean appearing on your left as you approach the Tarragona area. The terrain is gentle coastal plain and low hills — no mountain passes and no winding sections. You leave the motorway near Salou/Vila-seca and cover the final few kilometres on local roads through the resort grid. The full trip is around 100 kilometres and usually takes about an hour. The only slow stretch is the final approach in July and August, when beach and PortAventura traffic builds up around Salou and Vila-seca's roundabouts.

La Pineda's hotels and apartment blocks spread along the seafront and the streets behind it, so give your driver the exact hotel name or street rather than just "La Pineda" — the resort has several similar-looking avenues and one-way sections near the promenade. If your plan includes PortAventura, ask to be dropped at the park's own entrance instead of the beach; it's a separate access a few minutes inland. For late flights, note that the airport-to-resort motorway run is straightforward at night, but on-site reception desks may close, so confirm check-in arrangements first. Travelling with beach gear and children's equipment is easy here, as the flat promenade access means short walks from most drop-off points.
