Cap de Salou is the wooded headland at the southern end of Salou, on the Costa Daurada in Tarragona province. It's quieter and greener than the main Salou strip, with pine-covered slopes running down to small coves such as Cala Llenguadets, Cala Vinya and the sheltered Cala de la Font. The coastal footpath, Camí de Ronda, links these coves and passes the Faro de Salou lighthouse. Families come here in summer for the calmer beaches and for easy access to PortAventura World and Ferrari Land, a short drive inland. Salou's main promenade, Passeig Jaume I, and its fountains lie a few minutes north. The headland is mainly holiday villas, apartments and mid-range hotels, busy from June to September and much calmer off-season.

The route runs almost entirely on motorway. From El Prat you join the C-32 or C-31 to link onto the AP-7 heading south-west past Vilafranca del Penedès and the Penedès wine country, then continue past Tarragona. You leave the motorway near Salou/Vila-seca and follow the C-31B and local roads into the resort. The distance is roughly 100 km and the journey usually takes about an hour and a quarter with normal traffic. The landscape is flat to gently rolling farmland and vineyards for most of the way, with the sea appearing as you near Tarragona. The final stretch through Salou and out onto the Cap headland is slower, with roundabouts, hotel entrances and narrower residential streets near the coves.

Give your driver the exact hotel or apartment name and street, not just "Cap de Salou": the headland is a spread-out grid of residential streets and some addresses near the coves are hard to reach by the direct route. In July and August, expect slow crawling around Salou's centre and PortAventura exits, especially on Saturday changeover days. If your stay is next to PortAventura or Ferrari Land rather than the beach, mention it, as those hotels sit off a different exit around Vila-seca. Have an EU adaptor and confirm whether your accommodation has parking or a drop-off point, since some Cap de Salou streets are narrow and one-way. For late flights, the motorway drive is straightforward, but the resort's internal roads are poorly lit.
