Private transfer from Antwerp International Airport to Rotterdam
Door-to-door transfer from Antwerp International Airport to Rotterdam with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Rotterdam looks like when you arrive
Rotterdam was rebuilt after 1940, so instead of a medieval core you get modern architecture: the Erasmusbrug spanning the Nieuwe Maas, the yellow Kubuswoningen (Cube Houses) at Blaak, and the arched Markthal with its food stalls. The Euromast gives a view over Europe's largest port. Business travellers head for Kop van Zuid and the Wilhelminakade towers; visitors gravitate to Witte de Withstraat for bars and galleries, and to old Delfshaven, one of the few streets that survived the war. Museumpark holds the Boijmans Van Beuningen depot. It's a working, water-facing city rather than a postcard town, busiest with conference and cruise traffic in spring and autumn, and popular with weekend day-trippers year round.
The drive north across the Dutch border
The route runs almost entirely on motorway. From Antwerp International Airport in Deurne you join the Antwerp ring (R1), then head north on the E19/A1 toward the Dutch border at Hazeldonk. From there the A16 carries you past Breda and Dordrecht, crossing the wide Hollands Diep bridge and the Van Brienenoordbrug over the Maas as you enter Rotterdam. The landscape is flat, open polder with little to climb; expect farmland, wind turbines and canals rather than hills. It's roughly 100 kilometres and, with clear roads, around 75 to 90 minutes. The Antwerp ring and the approach to Rotterdam are the two points where traffic backs up, so timing matters more than distance here.
Practical notes for this transfer
Rotterdam's centre has strict low-emission zones and paid parking, so a door-to-door car that drops you and leaves avoids the hassle of finding a space near the Markthal or Kop van Zuid. If your hotel is on the Wilhelminakade or near the cruise terminal, give the exact quay, as the Kop van Zuid one-way system can be confusing. For Blaak and the Cube Houses, the nearest set-down is a short walk since the immediate streets are pedestrianised. Cross-border traffic peaks on Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings around Hazeldonk and Breda; a mid-morning departure usually clears it. Keep ID handy—there are no routine border checks, but occasional spot checks happen on this corridor. Ask your driver about drop-offs at Rotterdam Centraal if you're continuing by train.
