Manavgat is a working town on the Manavgat River, best known for the Manavgat Waterfall just north of the centre and for the river boat trips that run up towards the Oymapınar Dam and the Green Canyon. The Monday market and the covered Grand Bazaar draw day-trippers from the surrounding resorts. Most visitors actually stay in the coastal districts nearby: the ruins and harbour at Side, the long sandy beaches at Sorgun and Kızılot, and the lagoon at Titreyengöl. Summer is the busy season, when families and beach holidaymakers fill the hotels along the coast, while spring and autumn suit those combining the ancient sites with river excursions. The town centre itself is more everyday Turkey than resort strip.

The route follows the D400 eastward from Antalya Airport, keeping to the coastal plain rather than climbing into the mountains. It is a fast dual carriageway for most of the way, passing through Aksu, Belek and the Kadriye area before reaching the Manavgat region, so the journey is generally smooth and takes around 50 minutes in normal traffic. The Taurus mountains stay on your left throughout, with flat farmland and greenhouses on either side. If you are heading to Side, Sorgun or Titreyengöl, the transfer turns off the main road before the town and works through the resort access roads. For Manavgat centre itself you cross the river close to the bridge, where local traffic slows things down, especially on market day.

Give the exact hotel name and district when you book, because Side, Sorgun, Titreyengöl, Kızılot and Manavgat centre are spread over a wide area and add real driving time beyond the town. Many hotels here are large gated complexes with more than one gate, so noting the reception entrance helps the driver reach the right one. Antalya Airport has separate international and domestic terminals; confirm which one you land at. If you plan to visit the waterfall or take a river boat, these are north of the centre, away from the coastal hotels, so factor in a short local trip. The market operates on Mondays and clogs the centre, so allow extra time if your transfer passes through town that day. Carry water for the drive in summer.
