Private transfer from Alghero-Fertilia Airport to Marina Di Portisco
Door-to-door transfer from Alghero-Fertilia Airport to Marina Di Portisco with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Marina di Portisco is used for
Marina di Portisco sits on the Gulf of Cugnana on the Costa Smeralda, between Olbia and Porto Rotondo. It is one of the larger yacht marinas in northern Sardinia, with berths for big motor yachts and a busy base for charter departures. Most people arriving here are joining a boat: crewed charters, bareboat rentals, or private yachts heading to the La Maddalena archipelago, Cala di Volpe and the beaches around Porto Rotondo. There is a fuel dock, chandlery and a handful of waterfront restaurants, but it is a working marina rather than a resort town. Peak activity runs May to September; in winter it is quiet. San Pantaleo, a small inland village known for its Thursday market, is a short drive away.
The drive across northern Sardinia
This is a long coast-to-coast crossing: Alghero-Fertilia is on the northwest, Portisco on the northeast. The route runs inland via Sassari, then follows the upgraded four-lane SS729 (the Sassari–Olbia road) most of the way east across rolling countryside and cork-oak hills. Near Olbia you leave the fast road and pick up the SS125 north toward Porto Rotondo, with a final stretch on local roads to the marina at Cugnana. Expect roughly two and three-quarter to three hours. Most of the journey is smooth dual carriageway, so the winding part comes only at the very end as you approach the coast. There are service areas around Sassari and Olbia; between them the road is largely open country with few stops.
Practical tips for this transfer
Because the marina is large, tell your driver the specific pontoon or the name of your yacht or charter company — the entrance and the far berths are a fair walk apart, and there is no obvious single drop-off point. If you are boarding a charter, confirm your embarkation time, as many boats have a set afternoon check-in and it is a three-hour drive with no quick alternative. This route has no motorway service on the middle section, so plan a stop near Sassari or Olbia if you need one. If your flight lands late, note that marina facilities and restaurants close early out of season. For groups with hard-shell luggage or diving gear, mention it when booking so the vehicle has enough boot space for the long haul.
