Private transfer from Alghero-Fertilia Airport to Golfo Aranci
Door-to-door transfer from Alghero-Fertilia Airport to Golfo Aranci with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Golfo Aranci is known for
Golfo Aranci sits at the northeastern tip of Sardinia, a working fishing town and ferry port that also draws summer beachgoers. Sardinia Ferries and Corsica Ferries run from here to Livorno and other mainland ports, so many arrivals are catching or leaving a boat. The numbered beaches south of the centre — Terza and Quarta Spiaggia — plus Spiaggia Bianca are shallow and family-friendly. Cala Moresca, at the foot of the Capo Figari headland, is quieter and good for snorkelling, with the small Isola di Figarolo offshore. Capo Figari itself is a hiking reserve with an old semaphore station and resident mouflon. The town is also the terminus of the rail line from Cagliari and Sassari. Peak season is June to September; winter is very quiet.
The drive across northern Sardinia
This is a long cross-island run, from the northwest coast near Alghero to the northeast. The route leaves Fertilia, skirts Sassari, then joins the fast four-lane SS729 Sassari–Olbia corridor, which carries most of the journey through rolling inland countryside and cork-oak farmland. Near Olbia you pick up the roads towards the coast and follow the SP82 out along the gulf to Golfo Aranci. Expect roughly two hours in normal conditions. Most of the drive is on modern dual carriageway, so it's steady rather than winding; the scenery is agricultural and hilly rather than dramatic coast until the final stretch approaches the sea. Traffic thickens around Olbia, especially near the airport and port in summer, which is the main thing that can add time.
Planning this transfer around ferries and season
Because Golfo Aranci is a ferry town, time your transfer around your sailing, not just your flight — check-in for boats to Livorno usually closes well before departure, and the two-hour drive from Alghero leaves little margin if a flight is delayed. If you're bound for the Costa Smeralda, note that Olbia's own airport is much closer to Golfo Aranci; Alghero only makes sense if that's where your flight lands. In July and August the SS729 and the approach to Olbia get busy, so build in extra time. The beaches south of town have limited parking, which is irrelevant with a driver but worth knowing if you plan day trips. Bring water and snacks — there are few useful stops on the fast inland stretch between Sassari and Olbia.
