Sedella est un village blanchi à la chaux situé sur les pentes sud du parc naturel de la Sierra Tejeda, Almijara et Alhama, dans l'Axarquía orientale. The journey starts on the A-7 Autovía del Mediterráneo, heading east past Málaga city, Rincón de la Victoria and Torre del Mar. After roughly 45 minutes of straightforward motorway driving along the coast, the route turns inland near Vélez-Málaga and Trapiche, following the A-356 corridor before branching onto narrow local roads through the Axarquía. The last stretch towards Sedella climbs steadily through the hills on tight, winding lanes with sharp bends and few passing places. Expect the final 20 minutes to feel much slower than the motorway section. The total run is around 70 kilometres and usually takes about an hour and twenty minutes, though the mountain approach can add time behind slow farm traffic or in poor weather.

Give your driver the exact name of your accommodation and, ideally, a phone number for the owner. Many rural houses around Sedella sit on unnamed lanes or outside the village centre, and standard sat-nav often stops at the edge of the built-up area. Vehicles cannot enter much of the old core, so be ready to walk the final few metres up steep streets with your luggage — pack light or bring a case you can carry, not just wheel. There are few shops and no large supermarket in the village, so consider a stop in Vélez-Málaga or Torre del Mar on the way up if you need groceries. Evenings get cool in the sierra even in summer, and winter can bring fog on the higher bends, so allow a little extra time.
